Experienced Construction Law Attorneys

The attorneys of Davagian Grillo & Semple LLP (DGS) have devoted their careers to advising and advocating for participants in the construciton industry.

After graduating from Boston University School of Law, John Davagian spent 28 years as a construciton executive at a general contractor specializing in building bridges, piers, and wharfs for state awarding authorities and agencies of the federal government.  Attorney Davagian subsequently founded a private practice where he has dedicated his expertise to servicing the construction industry.

Prior to founding DGS, James Grillo practiced as a trial lawyer for more than fifteen years at law firms in Boston, handling many construction disputes of significance to the Massachusetts construciton industry.  Having particular expertise in prosecuting and defending contract, lien, and bond claims, Attorney Grillo offers clients a skill set well suited to the needs of contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, developers, and project owners.

Scott Semple spent eight years at a Boston construction litigation firm prior to founding DGS in 2016.  Attorney Semple has experience negotiating with regulatory agencies, mitigating risk through careful contract drafting, and trying breach of contract cases and arguing appeals in Massachusetts courts.  At DGS, Scott prides himself on being able to offer manageable solutions to help clients navigate matters that otherwise appear to be complex crises.
